Good candy, nice staff, and good ice cream. The coffee is terrible, though. They also sell your typical Salem witchy kitsch, too--beware, it's expensive!

Terrible service, whoever was running the ice cream stand had such a terrible attitude toward customers, I got handed what was thought to be my ice cream then I walked away, then I got yelled at for having the wrong ice cream, not to mention this is my second time having a bad experience!! Wouldn’t recommend this candy/ice cream store. They obviously don’t know what customer service is!!

Their fudge is delicious, and their Ice Cream sundaes are a little pricey, but amazing. My hubby and I go at least 2-3 times a year, and we won't go anywhere else now.. lol!! Not much into sweet treats, but their chocolates are delightful I've heard. Stop on by and show her some love.. oh. And she has so cute soveneirs for tourists on their way home!! The ice cream is wonderful. I went in a couple of days back and the person there was friendly (perhaps the owner - Maria). So I went again today and was served by a girl who gave the impression that she'd rather be doing something else. Really not suited to customer service. Made the experience bitter...so I probably won't return while I'm here.

Tasty, busy, was Saturday before Halloween

While on vacation my wife grabbed me a vanilla milkshake from here. Now I know it’s not hard to make a milkshake but this one was as perfect as they come. Perfect texture and taste.

Live in Florida, but when I am in New England I try to make a trip to Maria's. Clean, great service and the staff is very helpful. Have met Maria and she is quite nice and informative. Don't listen to the negative reviews, if you're in the area please visit!

This place was sensational! Great products and the ice cream was on point. It is cash only for ice cream, but there is an atm if you forget. We actually went back later and got chocolates...OMG...try the dark chocolate half egg. I absolutely lost my mind to chocolate goodness

Went there for the first time this weekend, and it was lovely. The chocolates were so good! I’m surprised to see that someone recently had a bad experience. Must’ve been a rough day, I hope. Can’t wait to get more chocolates this weekend!

Nice place to visit during a warm, sunny day in Salem

Cute little place in Salem. I had the "small" ice cream and it was delicious! If you're walking around town I totally recommend this place for a quick stop.

Maria treated us wonderful with lots of advice on how to get around between Salem and Boston and of the local history. Great hot chocolate flavors and delicious ice cream. Thank you for the great conversations. You have a special place with great staff. We will see you again on our next trip up your way.

Really great place to get candy and ice-cream. The statue outside the south entrance is really cool. This place is one of the reasons why front street is a cool place to visit.

So many delicious ice cream flavors to choose from. My favorite is the blueberry pie flavor because it really does taste like blueberry pie in every bite! Would also recommend death by chocolate!

I usually just visit for the ice cream, but they have a lovely candy selection as well. The ice cream is amazing and I can't resist seasonal flavors like apple pie or pumpkin.The candy section sometimes offers treats from Lake Champlain chocolates and I finally bought some of the delicious dark chocolate truffles. I will say to watch out, because I have seen where the ice cream area was cash-only.

The owner maria i a bad person with everyone.. i never came back again to the store. Bad experience. . it seems that the workers are afraid of her .. she doesn't have the patience to have a business with many clients .. she needs to relax a little. and be kinder to everyone if she wants to sell more

The chocolates here were amazing!

Great ice cream, that would be 5*s, but super rude woman running the place, which would get 2 or 3*s, so I'm being generous by averaging it to 4. If you have kids or large groups, beware because the indoor seating area is very small, and both floors of the shop are incredibly crowded.

Delicious pastries and candies with exotic ice cream flavors. Charming Old timey candy store decor, but you pay for the ambiance. Pricey.

Yummy stuff for a sugar fix!

Just moved to the area and thought I would pop in for a cone to go on a sunny day. I was being helped by a lovely woman- I asked for two flavors but wanted a manageable size; apparently this is a medium (more than okay with it as long as I had my smaller scoops). Then a coworker (Gabriel was it?) grabs my cone from her hand dumps it and tells her that that is too small to be a medium. She and I both tell him that it’s what I asked for, and I’m aware. He mumbles well then get a small and proceeds to hand me this giant unmanageable cone placed upside down in a cup without ever once acknowledging me or making eye contact. Rude to his coworker and rude to the customer. Head to Melt down the street- the ice cream is better, the service is better, and the price is better. I’ll be making sure people know to skip Maria’s. RUDE RUDE RUDE!

Somehow they managed to make ice cream taste bad. Both of us agreed it tasted like it had been inside a freezer uncovered for too long and had that weird fridge/freezer taste.

Expensive but interesting creations with a large variety of chocolate dipped foods but seriously 5.75 for a chocolate dipped strawberry( too much)

Love the ice cream at this place. They have great variety of flavors. Prices and sizes are reasonable. Their chocolates are better. They also have liquor chocolates for great prices.

They have the most amazing ice cream and treats! It's pretty much cash only, but she DOES have an ATM for your convenience. Oh. And she has some cute trinkets, gifts, and souvenirs, too!
